For those with sensitive constitutions and those who don't believe we are at war, please skip the following post.
   From a torture manual prepared by al-Qaeda in Iraq and obtained by U.S.forces.
     One drawing shows how to put a drill through a man's hand.  Another shows how to chop off his forearm with a meat cleaver.  There are blowtorches to the skin, hot irons to the chest, knives to the eyeball.  
     If waterboarding is torture, what is this?
  I never saw this printed anywhere!  Where are all the screaming liberals??
Our enemy inhabits a moral universe that has no point of overlap with our own.
And one of the Dem. candidates wants to set up a group to go and deal with these people.  Will they never learn you can't deal with irrationality??

I have recently heard my name linked with Bush!  Now sticks and stones to quote an old saying, but so I voted for the idiot twice!  My only defense is that the alternate would have been even worse!  Just listen to Gore today!  OY GOTT
So we had no choice--I AGREE!!
Well, I just want to say that this time we may have a choice and for the sake of the country we better make a good one!!  
Congress stinks!!  And we better get a President that knows how to veto or we will really be in trouble--not that we aren't now
         So I have read more of The Fair Tax and it makes a lot of sense in spite of the fact that the possibility of these people collecting the tax won't do their jobs , but how it will ever get through Congress without a mass scream from the voters is another story .
          There will be too many organizations against it  for it to have a chance.

All right, everyone,  run out and find the book  Fair Tax by Boortz and Linder.
So far I've only read about how federal income tax was started and turned into withholding and I am sick already.  It only shows how Congress was rotten then as now.  Read how they convinced gullible people it was a good thing,  how it would "soak the rich" and then vomit!!  (See how cultured I am getting--I didn't say puke!)
And I haven't even got to the good part yet!  So expect more .....Like I said, I suspected I would become a cheerleader.  The problem is... how to move mountains...easier than getting anything this big accomplished by the arrogant , vote-buying, career-bound politicians we create.

 OK  I looked it up and it's the Rasmussen Report!
   Thompson 28%
    Giuliani       27%
    Romney and McCain 10%      YAHOO!!  Here we go!!

Point 2..  I am starting to read  THE FAIR TAX BOOK  by Boortz and Linder.
    I was inclined to believe in it from the little I had heard Boortz talk about it and I expect to be a confirmed cheerleader after I read it.
    For those of you who don't listen to talk radio Neal Boortz is on here in the morning from 9 to 1:00-.  He is a Libertarian /Conservative.  Linder is Congressman John Linder (don't know from what state) who has been trying to  get the IRS thrown out for years. 
    With the do-nothing Congresses we have nowadays that is probably a pipedream that will never happen but that doesn't mean it isn't worth fighting for.   But I won't get started on  (spit) Congress at the moment.  Gotta go wash out my mouth from even thinking about that!

An interesting point was made on TV tonight.  On Brit Hume's show with Krauthammer and two others they were saying that the liberal blogs and the conservative talk shows were causing the two sides to go further and further apart.  The result is the Democrats catering to the far left and the Republicans catering to the far right and making it impossible to get any compromise legislation passed.  There are two energy bills being presented and no middle ground so there probably won't be an energy bill passed.  
Now there is talk about dividing the immigration bill into smaller parts to try and get something passed.  What is the stupid thing now?  620 pages???  Too much chance of having bad things in there.
     Today Thompson was ahead of Giuliani in a poll.  I didn't hear what one, but I will have to go look for it.
Someone said "Why doesn't he declare he is running?"  The answer was "Why bother?  Just keep on what he's doing and show up at the convention and claim the nomination!"   :-))   I love it!
       We will be leaving for ME a week from today.  Time flies.

this is a test because I wrote a long entry today and when I tried to add it, I got a message I couldn't go there.
When I went back to my post it was GONE!!  So it is lost  (sob, sob)  I am not sure whether that is a cry or the initials of what I thought when it happened.

I have read comments recently by all of the Republican political addicts screaming about Bush.  They (and I) can't believe he would get together with Kennedy on anything.  But to give amnesty to millions of ILLEGALS is just about the last straw. 
Mel Martinez   sent out a letter  (addressed to me but I assume it was a letter he sent to anyone who disagreed about the amnesty bill)  explaining about what a good bill it is.    It does have some good points but fails to deal with the fact of ILLEGALITY.
       The sop at the end was that "this bill declares that English is the national language of the United States and calls on the United States Government to preserve and enhance it."  Isn't that just fantastic of them???   All in favor of doing away with choosing English or Spanish say AYE!!!!

Fred Thompson

Fred Thompson hasn't announced yet that he is running for President but has come up in the polls above McCain and Romney!~  and is drawing even with Giuliani.!!
     I don't know know whether he would make a good President but he's better than any of the ones now running.
       He has the right ideas on the economy,  anti-terrorism, border security, gloval warming.  He is a communicator.
      He has the toughness of Giuliani, the clear-headed straight talk of McCain,  the intelligence and social conservative positions of Romney. 
      One problem is the fact that he is not known by enough people--but he has plenty of time to become known and it sounds more and more like he is getting ready to announce.

I don't believe Congress is thinking of putting price controls on fuel.  They are such idiots.  They don't remember that price controls don't work??
     I was just reading some of the things that Reagan said or wrote.  What a shame we don't have someone who could accomplish the same things to get elected in 2008.
       Thompson might be one but it is too soon to tell.
    I assume we will never get back to the idea of a smaller national government.  We have Roosevelt and Johnson and the rest of the Democrats to blame for the ridiculous size of Washington now.  Most people don't care so there will never be an uprising to accomplish a change.  Sad.

All of the links are to dyed-in-the-wool conservatives, of course.  :-))

By the way, this site accepts comments.  I think the way to do it is to go down toward the bottom and click on comments and a space will come up to be typed in.

OK it will take me awhile to learn how to use this so I am practising. 
The only think I am furious about at the moment is an item I just read about Rosie O'Donnell.  She is claiming this country is terrorist.  Now it's obvious she is a blithering idiot, but how many people is she convincing???
