Gallop Poll

I love this one! :-))  from the Patriot Post:  A Gallop Poll says that "Republicans are significantly more likely than Democrats or Independents to rate their mental health as excellent."
According to the Post "Republicans generally emulate the optimism of Ronald Reagan...Democrats are busy running around telling everyone how terrible things are."
According to Gallop "One cannot say whether something about being a Republican causes a person to be more mentally healthy, or whether something about being mentally healthy causes a person to choose to become a Republican."
Then to quote the Post again, "On the other hand, what we can
be reasonably sure of is that voting for Democrats calls into question one's mental healthe."

another Reagan?

I keep reading where one candidate or another tries to refer to himself as "another Reagan" or "being Reagan-like"  .  I am sure
someone on here has pointed out the obvious...there will never be
another Reagan,  or another Lincoln, or another Roosevelt .
Reagan was one of a kind and that kind doesn't seem to exist in this day and age.  Among the candidates there is a whole different mindset.  Among the people of the country there is a whole different atmosphere.  Love of country, pride in America, optimistic outlook...
among other American qualities,
these are all missing, both among the candidates and especially among the people.

The Book on Hillary

I hope whoever will run for President as a Republican is making a book with which to fight Hillary.  The amount of "baggage" being carried by the Clintons is huge!
Diane West, in an article in Townhall, points out the books regarding their shenanigans:  Sellout by David Schippers, The Breach by Peter Baker,
Friends in High Places by Webb Hubbell, State of the Union by Jerry Oppen-
heimer, Hell To Play  by Barbara Olson, etc.
Too many in this country have no idea of the number of questionable actions which she evades constantly as if nothing ever happened!
I just read Ms. Flowers is seriously considering voting for Hillary just because she is a woman!  This from one of Bill's "other women"!!
How anyone could want the Clintons back in the White House is beyond my understanding!

Peggy Noonan

Peggy Noonan , in her current article, hit the nail on the head!!
She said, "My feeling is we've bowed too far to the idiots.  ...in politics, journalism,
and just about everything else."

This nonsense about "taking offense" is getting ridiculous.  What needs to be said
every time someone takes offense over some idiotic nothing is "Get a life!"   When
did the people of this country start having such sensitive sensibilities?  If all of these
thin-skinned souls were busy making a living and tending to their own lives, maybe
they would be a lot healthier and the country would be healthier, for sure.  It is
getting to the point where Politically Correct is an obscene term.

Priceless quote

from Peggy Noonan:
"...the Clintons perfected a new method of scandal management that starts with "These are lies spread by a partisan conspiracy," proceeds to "That's old news," and ends a few years later, when detailed books come out, with
"That's rehash for cash."

and now go to the link for the rest of her fascinating article.

a quote of Brent Bozell

For those of you who missed it:
Brent Bozell  said, "How did she become a presidential front-runner
despite her never having held elective office before she ran for the Senate,
her staggering number of personal, political, and financial scandals and
her leftist political agenda?
   ...[her[..secret weapon: the news media."

And from someone else :
You may be ready for a woman [for President] but are you ready for
  Hillary.
She has a history that lends itself to the kind of doubts that end in
fearfulness...unease and dismay, based not on gender stereotypes,
   but on personal history.

So.... with all of her history, isn't it amazing that this woman has been
able to put herself in the position of possibly being a nominee for
President of the United States??
No matter how her candidacy scares me, I have to give her credit.

Zogby Poll

I just saw a report of a Zogby poll...Hillary loses to each of the Republican candidates.  It's too soon for that one!  But it's good news.
The poll I want to see is one taken in the White House and the Secret Service.
How many Secret Service people will take early retirement if she is elected?
How many of the help in the White House will suddenly decide to leave?
The bad news is that Obama wins in the polls over all the Republicans!

In the Weekly Standard (Crystal and Barnes)  there is an essay about Romney and another about Giuliani.  Both of them sound like good nominees.

from Lieberman

On October 8 Joe Lieberman gave a speech in Washington that was ignored (of course) by the New York Times, the Washington Post, the Wall Street Journal,  and USA Today, and probably most Democrats.  It is an excellent summary of how the attitudes of the two parties have changed about foreign policy, back and forth, over the past, from Roosevelt up to the present time.  To read the whole speech or just a summary of the important points , go to
http://www.lieberman.senate.gov/newsroom/release.cfm?id=287039&

One thing he pointed out, however, was..."whatever domestic politican differences divide us, they must never blind us to the far more profound national security challenges we face together from abroad."

Barry Bond

So Barry Bonds is going on trial for lying to the grand jury!!  I heard he could get as much as 30 years???  If it's the same kind of grand jury that Clinton had he should have no problem.
Of course he was the only athlete to go on steroids.  Right??
Oh, well, arrogance will get you every time.  Or will it?  I don't see Clinton suffering at all.
      Or Hillary, for that matter!

news on Christmas trees

The news came out a couple days ago that Lowe's had sent out an apology for the "poor proofreading" of their catalog that allowed Christmas trees to be called "family trees".  They say that all of their advertising calls Christmas trees Christmas trees.
Now I can understand that using "their" instead of "there" might be missed in proof reading...or " I and my sister" instead of "me and my sister"... but family instead of Christmas????   Seems like a stretch to me!
More like some young PC liberal avoiding "offending someone"???
At least Lowe's had the ...guts?...tact? ...common sense?...to immediately apologize.  And I got a letter saying so!  :-))

Lack of news

I am sure everyone is noticing the lack of news in the MSM now that the situation in Iraq has turned around and improved.  This means that the people who only read the liberal papers and watch the liberal channels have no idea of just how optimistic we could be.  The drop in attacks, the drop in deaths, the returning to living-as-usual in so many places, notably Baghdad, are being almost completely ignored by the MSM and by the Democrats in Congress!!!
How the hate for Bush and the desire to keep a majority can win over pride in our servicemen and our country would be amazing if it weren't for the fact that there are few statesmen (or women) in the Democrat party.  One can only assume that Reid and Pelosi are also only reading the MSM, so how can they know?  Right??
Someone needs to get the message to them!!

Christmas trees

I got a note this morning saying that Lowe's is calling Christmas trees "family" trees.  Do we have to go through this every year???  I sent the email that was supplied and got an answer saying it couldn't be delivered.  I guess Lowe's shut down their email site .  :-))
Something else to get disgusted about!!  I had added a note saying that in their effort not to offend anyone, they had offended me!
So I just sent another from my other email address and I am curious to see if that goes through.
WHY is it so important to some people in this country to scrub all signs of religion??  HOW are they being hurt by customs that have been in effect for years??  HOW does a creche in a city interfere with their lives in any way?  HOW does a cross erected anywhere disturb anyone's psyche??
The East coast and West coast liberals need to find another country!  :-))  They are so unhappy with this one!!

Salaries

Is anyone else disgusted with how much money athletes are getting for being able to hit or catch a ball?
One person was offered $10 million a year for 4 or 5 years!!  Someone else is turning down a contract  for $14 million a year for 3 years because he wants 4 years!!  and he is  34 years old!!
That's just two!   When you figure the cost of a team , whether it is baseball or football or basketball,  the money being wasted on salaries is obscene.
I enjoy watching football more than most women, I think, but when I see all those millionaires running around, I get a little  disgusted!
People complain about CEOs making the money they do but have no problem with athletes!

Chinese threat?

I just read that the Chinese have 3,000 companies launched in the United States!
So we are full of Chinese intelligence agents!  In the past three years they are reputed to have stolen $24 bill. worth of secrets!
With all the Islamist agents added,  and all the illegals,  it's a wonder there is any room for Americans!
So I am taking 4 days off and going to Disney!  :-))
